"Muhlenkamp ... shines with her beautiful singing voice. Her soaring soprano ... is delicate and emotive."     - NEWS & RECORD

Katie is a singer, actress, and voice teacher based in North Carolina. She is a frequent performer in theatres across North Carolina and Virginia, most recently as Evelyn Nesbit in Piedmont Opera's "Ragtime." Past roles include Mary Poppins in “Mary Poppins,” Julie Jordan in "Carousel," Sibella in “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” Luisa in "The Fantasticks!," Laurie Williams in "Oklahoma!," Penny Pingleton in "Hairspray," Hope Cladwell in "Urinetown" and Helen Fogle in the North Carolina premier of Sondheim's "Saturday Night." Katie also performs in plays, notably as Brook Ashton in "Noises Off," Clarice in David Ives’ “The Liar,” Lizzy in "The Rainmaker" and Shelby in "Steel Magnolias."

Katie studied vocal performance at Elon University under a choral music scholarship. Katie currently teaches private and group voice lessons through UNCSA Community Programs. She is also the soprano section leader at Emerywood Baptist Church and music director for Seasons Best Caroling.

Katie received her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law and quickly found herself back onstage, balancing a legal career with her passion for music. Katie is happy to be doing a lot of "both" now - practicing law full time, while still teaching voice and performing.
